Correctamundo, I do own a F2 SX med, but that is what I use more for the mid strength winds and also distance sailing Nm and 1 hour or if it's quite choppy.
It's a awesome board but a bit large for the next step up the speed ladder which is what I'm targeting.
The Windtech is needle-like and goes quick in a straight line on flattish water but does like chop or turning rapidly (or slowly for that matter).
The Box rails make it very tricky in chop as they tend to grab badly, after a number of bad dismounts I actually sanded 5mm chamfers from the front of the board to just in front of the front foot strap to soften the rail a bit.
Hardies Run has made this board a viable option again.Hardy gave me this one as he didn't like the rails, it cost him $200 with a couple of sails and a mast.
The other board which I use is the Mistral Flow 276 which you used, this is actually classed as a "free ride" board and although it is not actually a race board it is still surprisingly quick (36knots on GPS).
The board has speed from a good shape but also it is a comfortable board to ride whilst you are doing it.
It is because of the comfort that this board is deceptive on a not so nice day and is always surprising to see what speeds I've done. This board set me back around $450 I also use it for light wind wave sailing.
