GPS freeware software wanted

Does anyone have a link to a garmin extrex software program that I can download info into. Just got the etrex and new to the gps useage. cheers

Hi Coyil

I also use the Etrex. Just download G7towin and either realspeed or GPS Replay. The G7towin seems to handle the info out of the etrex pretty good. Just save as *.GPX then you can inport into the other two to analise your tracks. I can't remember the website for G7towin but you can google it easily.

Does the etrex now allow manual setting of trackpoint recording to 2 second intervals? I know the old ones only ran on automatic trackpoint logging and were unsuitable for gps-speedsurfing.

I was under the impression that you were ONLY allowed to use the etrex on auto settings. I think that came from Mal W. but it was a while ago now. no one's said anything but I'm hardly knocking on the 40K club door.

Thanks for the help guys, Im not after speed trial authorised info, just learning and experimenting at this stage.

As with using any GPS, even when "just experimenting"... If you are going to use them on the water, make sure you use an Aquapac (unless you enjoy warranty claims).
