Edit woops just realised unless you're running some sort of windows emulator, you can't use the utility, so the below may be irelevant, but I'll leave it here just in case somebody finds it helpful
Fangy and I have recently got the GW52 and GW60 utils to connect in Linux. since then I've noticed a reluctance for the GW60 to connect. After cleaning connections and still no joy, I tried to connect to the GW60 with the GW52 util, Bingo, up first time, I then shut that down and tried again with the GW60 util and strangely enough that also connected first go.
Bit of a coincidence you may think, but I've now tried the same procedure several times with the same result.
I mentioned how frustrating it had been trying to connect with the GW60 utill to Peter yesterday, and he said, that's probably the same thing as us Mac users are having.
So if that's your problem, it's worth trying the GW52 utill instead, it will download logs and delete the data, it just can't be used to set up the watch. I'm using the old version with the Power Off button, this is useful if you need to do a reset, for some reason this facility was left off later versions. So I'm not sure if all GW52 util versions will work.

Happens every time I do it Andrew, seems a bit crazy, I've no explanation, but it happens.
Well seems like it's going to be useful to at least one other, thanks Andrew

Roger I was thinking you may have had a firmware crash, and a reset could fix it. If you have the old GW52 util, that has a "power off" button (if you can connect of course) otherwise leaving it to discharge or go to sleep after 10 days, could fix it. So this is probably your problem, it had just crashed.

Didn't try that with Simon's although it's in bits now, probably worth a try, before I fry it with the heat gun
