Looking for someone to make a summary and compilation of Speedsailing technique from the SpeedGuru thread, and to take contributions from speed technique officianado's to create a technique section on the challenge website, you'll be acknowledged of course.

Maybe different people can complie different bits?

Let me know how you would like to contribute?

There are some real speed guns on this forum - I'd suggest a wiki style interface so that it makes it easy for those guys to edit the page in-place, rather than rely on one specific person.

Cool

What I was thinking is that we have a technical feature that looks at sailing techniques, to rigging equipment, to equipment set up, and what makes something fast?

OK, how about
- speed sailing - what is speed sailing
- best conditions for speed sailing - covers from square to off the wind angles, flat water etc.
- best spots - some of the best spots in each state
- sailing techniques - covers how you actually sail
- setup and rigging equipment - how to get the best out of your gear according to conditions
- what makes something fast - covers equipment designs - can be especially useful if buying used gear and older custom boards
- best gear to use - some recommended examples
- fins - could have a seperate section for fins as this area is developing so quickly
- GPS - types and use

We can start by trolling the thread as you have suggested, and then could get some of the gurus to write some stuff and we can collate. Could also get stuff from the GPS Speedsurfing forum www.gps-speedsurfing.com/default.aspx

Could also just include links to other sites where the stuff already exists.

I have trolled the web for ages and nothing like this exists that I can find, so I wrecken this would be really useful
