We are now stocking the POV.1 helmet cam & SD card recorder.
This is a high quality, light w)eight, fully self contained unit that works straight from the box, ( which is a real bonus ) is water resistant ( aquapac still advised) Up to 720 x 480 resolution at 30 fps.
Waterproof remote
Nearly 2 hours of highest quality on a 4 gig card.
Check it out at www.vio-pov.com

I have one of these and they are a good bit of gear. Records striaght to SD card, has a small LCD screen for previewing the footage, uses AA batteries, strong camera mounts, etc. This is the first decent off the shelf head cam unit that I have seen. All the others have crap resolution or require further waterproofing or need a separate recording device. I use it kayaking and put it in a dry bag but I am looking for something a little better waterproofing before I use it windsurfing.

Things I have found so far:
- Remote is a good idea but in practice does not work so well as you can't tell if the recorder has received the signal from the remote.
- The batteries tend to go flat if left in the device.
- Lock the keypad when in use as it can stop recording if the rec button is accidently knocked.
- The focus on the camera was a little out. I had to adjust this.
- The unit was made to record extreme sports action and it does it well.

Cheers
Brett

PS I am editing some footage that I will post on Youtube soon.....
