Just a small update. No wind....or very little over the last few days, so go carting on Thursday was the order for the day. We had 9 sailors on track with 1.5 sec between 7 of them. Not that we were competing Snides and Bender drive like they sail....all over the shop and had to be gently pushed to one side, Dad and izaak always hard to race against but the surprise was Dave from NZ who blitzed us all. A third race to decide the winner......which was Decrepit. He did have a head start.

Sunday after the big feast and movie night, Daffy took us all to try our luck on the shooting range and bag some clay targets. After much instruction and nervous laughs (me) we managed to hit something and sometimes twice The real shock came in the form of a junior Pit Crew, bagging 6/10 and pushed team Tas into digging deep and comming up with 5/5. Don,t invade Tas just yet.

Wed,Thu,Fri is looking good so back to the water

johno was well up there every race and got the fastest lap time in the carting.any way a good week, next year tassie will have even a bigger force

that quarantine is stuffed up they just took a quick look in the car and the box and did not bother about the boards or my wet suit just sitting there covered in sand.

I often wondered if the extra head, though beneficial as extra weight was offset to a higher degree by increased drag they do make great beer !

Wednesday was another very light wind day. There was very nice surf on the front beach.
There was a bit of fun had on the Gemini Tandem by lots of people and some learners were seen making great progress.
Today (Thursday morning) we rigged at the crack of dawn for the change that came through overnight. There was much indecision about what size to rig and it looked like the wind had died while we were rigging. I rigged a 5m anyhow and then the 5.7m. As I was carrying the 5.7m and slalom board down I looked across and saw a big dark cloud coming so I ran back and grabbed the 5m and CA40. For some reason this seemed to motivate the crew and there was a flurry of activity to rig.
I got on the front of the squall and pulled a 38.9 peak (probably about 25 knots of wind). A couple of others got on it as well. The wind died again as it often does after a squall but came back a while later to a pretty steady 20-25 knots. I got lots of 38's but could not buy a 39 or 40. Tide came in fast so I left the gear and came back for a bite to eat. Looks like this arvo will be similar but with more favorable outgoing tide.

had an absolute ball catching up with all the crew involved with the GTC
and had some great sailing at the pit in varying wind directions and strengths.

Bender and i where stoked to get 5 or 6 sails in and getting runs on most of the banks depending on the direction.
i think i probably got 2 or 3 runs down the main drag on the speed kit but never managed to link up the gusts.
still it was awesome to see the place and sail it at its flattest.

Thanks Mathew for organising the speed fortnight. It was great to see and sail at the famous PIT.

It was nice to meet everyone and some of their partners as well.
