Since ben has created the individual rankings there have been some people that have expressed concern that we might be moving away from the team aspect of the challenge.

The Challenge is and always will be about the teams, it's what's been missing from windsurfing.

If you heard what I heard the "Pit Crew" talking about in Vic........ it's all about team strategy for 2008 and how they get that trophy back to where it was designed and built, in their minds where it belongs............In their minds they're just loaning it to WA for a while!!

The individual rankings is just for interest sake, as many requested it......... And to encourage more women, I want to award medals/trophies to the top 3 women, and i also thought to stop the men from sooking............ the top 3 men also.

Anyway what are your concerns if any, and what are some of your ideas around these issues, because we have a great data base, why not use it, there are lot's of statistics freaks amongst us, me included.

Hardie, I think it's hard to argue that providing individual rankings does take some of the emphasis off the team aspect, but the flipside is that it has also made the whole competition and website even more interesting and addictive.

Keeping it team focussed has to be a priority though, and I think the current structure actually does that, mainly as the monthly leaderboard and competition is done on a month by month basis, whereas the individual rankings are only for all-time, and should probably stay that way. GPS-Speedsurfing is still there for those seriously chasing individual titles.

As far as further improvements, I have a couple of suggestions;

- Create a link for each team with a list of it's members and perhaps some photos, real names and a bit of a bio.

- There could also be a different "feature race" each month included in the team rankings. For example; in one month you might have a 20km category with the average of the fastest three for the month, and another month do 10km with the average of the fastest four. The feature for each month might even attract double points. This just gives it a little different emphasis each month and also keeps the team aspect very much in play.

Have a feeling this may cause Ben a bit of a headache.
Poor guy has just spent new year's eve and all new years day updating the site.
I'm no programmer, but I think including special things each month, would be a big challenge.

Let's give Nebs some time to sail!
