Forecast is 30-41 knots WSW all day. It does not come much better than that! I know that Mal Wright and Chris Lockwood are going to be there to have their best shot at it so there could be some interesting speeds by tomorrow evening! Good luck to all who can make it! (I am stuck at work - again!)

I hope you are right Andrew. My gazing out the window this morning and amateur wind forecasting put the wind more in the 20-25 knot bracket without any significant frontal squalls. Hopefully I am wrong but unfortunately you might not have to tell your grandchildren that you were at work when 50 knots fell.
Good luck to all sailing.

If possible can we be kept updated throughout the day, if someone is in contact with the pit, it's all very exciting!!!!!

I am now working on Murphys law in reverse. Just after I made the previous post I drove from home to work sideways in my old Kombi. The wind had picked up from 20 knots to 30 knots with gusts of around 40 from the SSW. Should hit the pit in an hour or two. All this on a rising barometer but who cares. I think that it certainly might be a classic SP day. Lets hope that it turns into an epic!!!

Dead west at the Prom so hopefully it heads SSW soon.

All the best Chris. Give it a good nudge.

Hi guys,

I wish i had a helicopter i would get in it now and be there in 1 hour. Especially after leaving 2 days before the front last week. There is always next year.

Good luck Chris and Mal.

Cheers,

Carl Macdonald

turn your gps on next time you're in your car. Drive at 47.2 knots and then hang your head out the window in the wind.
That is some slick speed happening down there.
Go Chris!

Update from Slowy;

Chris Lockwood 10-16-2007 08:56
lots of guys here today. Tide still high. Cant get back in. A few hours of light left so fingers crossed for a last ditch mission to get some better times. Wind 30-40 but not much more. Holding steady. Lots of west in it so very broad but still flat. Might go a bit tighter soon which should improve things. HEAPS of guys here blowing away their PBs in some categories at least. Lots of 45+ runs on GPSs... Theres gunna be a shakeup of the top 10...

staaaaaaaaaaand back!

PS no perfect rainbows or hail today :(

Just got off the phone with Chris.

They were still waiting for the tide to drop enough to get back in at about 5.30pm.

Chris had 47.2 knot average so far.
Peak 48.4
500m 46.5

Mal has 46.2 ave
peak 47.9
500m 45.8

Craig Spottiswood has a top 10, 5 x 10 as well at 44 point something I think they said

Others are there as well. There is definitly a shuffle coming in the top rankings.

For me it is down ...... again! :-(

They are hoping to get some more runs for the last hour or so of daylight

Hang the video. Just ask them to put detailed descriptions in the GPSss comments...these are invaluable.
