Thanks for the support guys.

The trouble is the wind, it's rare to find a day where it blows all day, especially over here in WA. I've had probably a dozen attempts to sail all day, both over east and here, but been dudded by either the wind or equipment failure. It's so frustrating to get up well before dawn, drive for an hour to vicky point ready for an epic session only to sit on the beach waiting for six hours for the wind to come in.
I wasn't going to let it slip away this time!

This only makes Kato's 309 km day (http://gpsteamchallenge.com.au/showsession.php?date=2007-11-03&team=16) even more special in my eyes, that must have been not only a test of endurance but he must have been sailing very fast as well, not pottering around like I was!

Ha! thats what my work mates say as well...thats the beauty of being a trady..we start around 6.00am ish so theoretically a finish of 2.30 - 3.00pm ish is great for making the most of sailing hourswhen there is wind of course
as Nebs has mentioned, the wind doesn't normally come in until mid/late arvo which makes chasing k's a difficult thing..so Nebbs and Decrep made hay while the sun shone so to speak and the result was a s..t load of hay to boot
sun down at 6.00pm is a bummer...i guess thats the down side of living in a beautiful place

Better for the sun to go down at 6pm and for dawn to break at 4.30am, than for the curtains to fade, for the days to get hotter and to go to hell for following satanic summer time.

200kms plus in one day. What was your average speed? Thats impressive? This season I would have lucky to sail 200kms all summer.

GpsarPro says,
Total average speed, 12.94Kt.
Average speed over 1Kt, 20.17Kt.

Shows how much time I spent stuffing around.
In the middle of the day had to change back into clothes to get a lift home with Sam, (nice leather upholstery). Bring my car back and change into wetsuit etc. If I hadn't had to do that might have been up with Nebs.

Yeah, 200 km is a long way to sail. Or it SOUNDS a long way if you express it in kilometres. Not so far when you put it in nautical miles (108), even less in femptoparsecs (64.8).

hmmmm...
Its just a bit further than that across Bass Strait. Easty, there's a challenge for you.

Well done, Nebbian on a top distance.
Decrepit I continue to be super impressed by your fitness and enthusiasm.
Still chasing you both on the individual rankings.

Moby sorry to state the obvious (and to be honest my brain isn't working real well after 4 days of alcohol and golf on the Gold Coast this past 4 days so I may have missed your sarcasm) but you do realise there isn't actually any more sunlight when we have daylight savings don't you??? Your curtains are gonne fade regardless and the days are going to be just as hot.
I got all excited when I looked out my hotel room up there to the view of the boys out on the Broadwater on Saturday I think it may have been.

Back to the topic at hand, well done and great effort Nebs and Decrep.
