I know this is off topic, and its just out of curiosity ... but

has anyone come across any cheap as software (read FREE ) that allows the NAVI to be used in conjunction with a laptop in the guise of a navigator aka TomTom or Navman style.

It would need to work with a USB connection as my Navi is not the Bluetooth model.

We bought the BGT-11, which is the Navi GT-11 with bluetooth too.

With this I use my Nokia 6300 mobile phone running software called Nav4all (www.nav4all.com) which is free.

You could use a GT-11 in the same way via the USB cable, I think, but I haven't tried it myself.

Dylan.

G'day Grumps,
suggest you have a look at Google maps, it allows you to connect your gps via usb cable, or bluetooth if its enabled, to have real time navigation. They also have a CE version that works on pda devices. You can set up your current loaction and it will provide directions to any place you request. A little known trick is setting your memory cache to a very large size so it will store the maps in memory so you wont have to be connected to the net.

For you, mate, anything.

The change was temporary, and the joke is over now. Back to the old joke.
