hi guys, we estimate it was around 55 to 60kn in the strongest gusts, but what made the sailing near impossible that day was the turbulence of the wind. you can see the 500m high island a few miles out to sea and in strong winds there are constantly twisters formed on the edges of the island. so the direction of the wind swings around like hell and the leftovers from those twisters are just a turbulent mess useless for sailing.
