Hi, I'm trying to reduce the number of fins in my box.
Which one should I keep for shallow weedy areas with a 90L slalom and 5.5m sail. I'll sell the other one.

The kestrel 17 cm now 16.5cm , ie. shorter but bigger surface area at back or the weed speed 50 deg 25cm but now measures about 20cm. I've only ever used each one once under different conditions so haven't given them much trial.

What do people think speed grip lift etc.

Thanks for any input.

I believe to be only one correct answer to which fin. Try as many as you can and sell the crappy ones.

Only problem is i might have to wait until next February for Lake George and if the weed grows.
Might get a local chance at swan Bay but strong wind days are rare.
Problem is I've collected to many fins over the years and don't sail enough to test them all.

I have used both. I liked the WeedSpeed 20cm a lot. Kestrel, not so much. Both worked well at Lake George in the good weed years.

They are both reasonable fins. Not as good as the newest stuff but still OK.
They are both 50 degree, The kestrel suits super shallow thick weed conditions, the weed speed suits deeper and slightly less weedy conditions. 5 years ago, I and many others had both of these fin types, these days I can get away with using Atomic nuclear weed fins in both scenarios.

I don't like the kestrels. I found they were a pain to recover after spinout.
2nd the Nuclear weeds.
