has anyone tried it with gps.....

i've done it a few times on swan, sandypoint and lano... ...lano was best coz it was a big craypot boat, but he soon burnt me off.......no gps machine though

nice flat water, bit bubbly though....would it be cheating...could u break records?????

Wake sailing, chop blockers etc. were discussed on the GPS-SS forum some time ago. The ideas ranged from easy to evaluate to complete lunacy (entertaining). It seems that little can match a long sand/mud formation that drops into deep water with a strong steady wind at about 120deg. These factors produce a long strip of water with just a slight ripple, ie as good as it gets for speed.
SP also has an important feature, ie the curve, which forces the sailor to turn off the wind as the board accelerates, which maintains drive by altering the angle of attack as the increase in speed changes the apparent wind angle. This may seem a bit of mouthfull but some reasonably basic maths supports it and so do the results produced regularly at SP.
