Hi fellow freestyle sailors.

Just wanting to know what fins people are using as I just changed from a 16cm MFC to a 27cm JP Freestyle wave but think it is too big so want to get something in between. Just wanting to get some ideas on what people use on their freestyle boards (for freestyle).

Also, where do people generally put their mast base? I have always ridden with it in the center but I seem to be sinking alot backwards and am not sure if I should ride with it more forward or it is because I am not leaning forward enough when trying to slide?

Cheers,
Owain

heya mate, merry christmas!

can't really give u advice with fin position as ive never had a freestyle board with an adjustable slot, and moving the fin doesn't seem to make a difference when trying slidy stuff on my waveboard - but maybe further forward is best if you are trying shakka/shovit type things where u need to bank the board and head up into wind really quickly??

personally i find fins with really thin profiles (cord?) plane up and accelerate more rapidly

with all the straight out freestyle boards ive had, i definitely plane earlier with the mast base all the way to the back of the track. it maybe makes spinny/sliding tricks a little easier too
