Is there anyone out there that can re-do a boom grip for me? Happy to pay to get the done. It's an RSX.

I saw a you tube flick from Severne on how to do it. Have a look it may help if no-one can help you out.

Here are my rates:

Labor to stick the new grip and finishing touch: $0
Labor to clean the old grip from the boom: $1 million

You'll have to add the cost of the grip and contact glue (gel) to that.

I have done it a couple of times. It's pretty easy, takes a couple of hours all up. Don't want to do yours but happy to provide tips for free

Tip 1 - Wrap a towel soaked in paint thinners around the boom, cover with Glad Wrap and leave for 30 mins, and the old grip falls off

Cheers Clive, would you kindly be able to do that and then give it to Julien to finish?

no, as long as you use what they say. Most will be absorbed by the grip & wont really come into contact with the carbon, tape any exposed carbon anyway to stop glue getting on it & after grip removed give it a good wash with water.

The glue is mostly solvent & that stays in contact with boom for ages.

Some booms are finished nice & shiney carbon, the glue doesnt stick real well to that so probably worth roughing it up a bit.

da vecta, don't worry, there is a new grip already on an rsx boom hanging up in the windsurfing shop with your name on it. Problem solved.
