Yes I would, has a great wind range and has a more locked in feel than a wave sail, I think it's ideal for Bay blasting and bump & Jump in Moreton Bay.
Should I be trying to close the gap then like old school? but not learn out over the water and try and keep the sail in line with the centre of the board.
Stan, yes close the gap as well but feather the back of the sail out as the gusts hit. If you wanta go fast or not still better way to sail stays more locked in less turbulance under the gap I feel also rig with no gap less extension helps.

Try raking the sail back more for better speed.

Yeah stan glynn is Right just rake the sail back you'll Feel more comfortable and raking your sail back is not about speedsailng , some slalom sailors should know that !!!!
