I lived in Gladstone for 40 years we used to sail Boyne river inlet at low tide or the other side witch is call canoe point at high tide, can get a bit wavy. Also out the front of tannum sands life saver can be good. These are all about 20 to 25k from Gladstone. Watch out for the kiters. Also barney point can be a good flat sail some times at high tide only due to the mud at low.

Greg,
If you get a chance and forecast appears favorable come up to Yeppoon although from now till end of August not great for wind. No flat water here although still fun to go fast in the ocean. Its about 150km north.
Cheers,
Brian

Yeppoon is much better place to sail. Not that I have done for quite a long time much to the disgust of my family.

Moved up to Tannum Sands last year. Been out a few times out the front of the Surf Club. Not good in a SE'er as slightly offshore, but great in anything from ESE to NW. Winter is predominantly light breezes. Have not sailed the Boyne river mouth since January floods. See you on the water.
