Hi everyone, some very sad news.
John Koda has passed away. His celebration is this Sunday morning. Please wear your harness.

Windsurfing was his passion.
Going by the forecast next weekend looks great for a gathering and a sail at Neil st to commemorate this most wonderful human and driven waterman.
Date/Time to follow, but either Friday (looks epic!) or Saturday (looks pretty epic too!) at this stage but open to suggestions.

Please let his non net friends know.

Truly saddened by John's passing.
Sailing in the 90's and early 2000's spent many, many many days with John. His passion was infectious in a great way.
The world was a better place with him it, and privilege to share it with JK
To his wife and children, I cannot imagine the grief, but hopefully you can celebrate an awesome guy and remember him fondly.
I know I will try, but there will always be a void.

RIP JK, I will miss you.
cheers
G

What an awesome guy was John.
Always so caring and helpful, always up for a chat and a sail or surf.
An amazing, gentle friend. We will miss you so much mate.

Hard to believe we have lost one of my most beloved friends and watermen. A man who always had a smile on his face, had time for everyone and greeted anyone new to the area like his best mate that new no bounds as there was never anything he wouldn't do for you or anyone that was part of our respective communities.
There will be so much we all miss, he was always good for early morning wind and swell report, even a quick call to brief you on options for the day.
The big days when it was just a few of us out, we always felt safe when John was out there on the water with us. I will never forget the epic sessions at Moffs, Neil st Reef or SWer's at the Bar. Shakas and woohoo's sharing the joy of sailing our local on the rare days when Huey delivered wind and swell. The Moffs surf sessions, chats about family and road trips to chase wind and waves....getting back to Maui next year to sail Hookipa.
His amazing wife Paula, daughters Gemma and Christie and her Grandkids all of whom he adored. He's left us too soon but with so many amazing memories but a hole in my heart that will never be filled.
So many things I wished I had shared more with you mate, so you knew we all have **** stuff that we have had to deal with in our lives, but nothing is off limits to talk to your mates about.
Going to suck not be able to sail with you again mate, but there won't be a day that we sail or surf in Caloundra that we don't think of you and wish you were there with.
RIP.
Loved you like a brother..
