Yep heading to Vic Pt around 9am or so while still plenty of water. Not sure how much SE there will be - conflicting reports as usual. Fingers crossed.
Cheers!!

gday lee, sorry about the job, but now you have more time to practice those push loops, redcliffe is obviously the better place but keep away from the rocks

for a SE wind i'd go with either thomsons beach at vicki point for bump and jump/blasting or Suttons at Redcliffe for waves.

of course there is the secret wave location at wello. may need a few days for the swell to get up though.

if it's a dead southerly then thomsons at VP

yep it's between retirement villages. i like to sail close to my destiny.[}:)]

low tide you need to walk about 100m to the waters edge. it's all sand though. then you launch into the channel.

that said, most of us locals only really sail there at high tide and launch straight off the beach.

for low tide park at the eastern end. for high tide park at the western end. only issue are some rocks at the western end near where the poles are.

for me typically,

if it's light and low tide i sail thomsons on the formula kit and head up to redland bay or coochie island depending on wind direction.

if it's windy and low tide i normally go to the goldy or redcliffe as those spots are not tide affected.

it's not bad SEQ,

we may have some heart breaking periods on no wind around may and as it would now seem around oct but on the whole we get good wind and the sailing conditions are wide and varied.

have you tried mooloolaba yet? that will blow your mind in a northerly. think queens beach with 1-2m swell.

you were doing alright at redcliffe.

in reality it's not that bad at mooloolaba, it starts off flat in the corner where everyone launches and gets bigger as you head out.

there is a sand bank out the back that the waves jack up on.

so you can gybe before the bigger swells or just keep going. some people sail slalom boards there.
