Opposite side of the passage from Bongaree.
Works in southwest to East, too shallow at low tide and some rocky hazards seen easily at low tide, a nice rigging area to set up and clean toilets. A park for the kids joins the area.
Mid to high tides are waist to chest deep for hundreds of meters out till the main channel.
Shallow depth keeps the chop down and wind onshore, great for learning and intermediate or oldies like me.
Today was the first time I used the 4.6 wave sail this year, plenty of wind 100 meters out, fully powered up all day, Darren was out was on the 5.0 race sail and flying. Saw four sailors at Bongaree going like smoke. Bongaree works low tides but can be choppy.
Yesterday at sandstone was southwest and gusty. Very strong and parallel to the shore. Got hammered on the 7.5 and changed to the 5.2 and still had to work too hard.
Today was onshore and strong. Best days sailing for yonks!!!
Bribie is a great sailing area with Bongaree, Turners camp for Nor'easters, Sandstone and Woorim.
