Anyone going this afternoon ?
I know the forecast was better this morning, but tide clearly wrong.

Decided to go.
Was very on/off. Packed up eventually, then a big squall came through. Nearly rigged up again, then bailed.
Oh well...................

where were you guys sailing? I was there a little before then but didn't see anyone out. I decided it was a bit onshore so I didn't rig. clearly I missed it!

I parked in the little car park on the southern side, a few blocks back from the ferry.

thompson esplanade/eagle st is where the park is that we windsurf from. not sure if you were there but if you go down to where the ferry is then you've gone to far. you turn down thompson st off colburn ave.

there are 2 car parks, one at the eastern end and one at the western end. most people rig up at the western end if it's high tide and the eastern end if it's low tide.

a ha, that explains it. I was further up near the ferry.

I must've left as you guys were rigging. I only had wave gear so I didn't think I could point high enough to make it out past the line of boats.

looks like a good spot though. might take the Pacifico for a blurt next time!

yeah it's not always onshore.

ESE is pretty good. launch from the eastern end and sail port tack stright into the swell/chop.

SE is cross on and provides port tack and starboard tack jumps.

S is cross on also and normally very good with starboard tack jumps

SSE is prob best direction for consistent wind and that's when it's onshore.

NE is cross shore you can either wait for low tide and walk out to the wind line or dredge out. there is a wind shadow in close in a NE wind. i've had some very very good sessions in a NE wind there and it's very flat water.

i haven't had any luck in a SW wind and taken off to wello. some of the local guys sail it in a SW though and like it.
