thompsons beach, at either end

if you are a lazy SOB then you will want high-ish tide to minimise carrying gear too far to water, otherwise any tide is good fun.

lower tides reveal the ahem freestyle bank over near coochie island for very flat water and long runs

howdy phil!

if you are hitting up VP tomorrow i will see you there. i tried today but got lost somewhere out in the back of logan village. frickin online road maps!!!!!

i'll be hitting it early to catc hthe high tide.

as haircut said. low tide there is a 100m walk to the water.

the trick is this.

if it's low tide. park at the eastern end of the park beside the toilets. it's a short walk over sand and into the water from there. if you park at the western end you will need to walk 500+ meters to get to the water and some of it is mud. also at low tide we sail from the eastern end towards coochie island. if you go up towards the western end to far you'll run into the bottom.

high tide most people park at the western end and launch striaght into the water at the sand beach. can sail anywhere at high tide.

flat water can be found at the speed strip at low tide. at mid to high tide there is lots of flat water up in the shallows towards redland bay. pierre regularly clocks high 30's up there. if i see you at the beach i'll point everything out.

Thanks guys,
I'll be there just after lunch hopefully so will try the sandy launch spot at the Eastern end and explore from there, hopefully those bities that were in todays paper will stay up the river, they look as bad as the tigers up north! Still, good alpha practice.

Cheers
