yeah i saw you out, i was down there with my kids.

good to see so many people out on the water even in the light winds cruising around like yourself or just starting out.

last couple of lightwind days at vp has seen a few beginners hit the water.

wind is still light here but slowly picking up.

yeah the goldy graphs are normally about 5-7 knots stronger than on the water in my experience.

i'd say most places got a good 20+ knot wind after 2pm but agree the goldy would have scored the best.

Shearwater was absolutely beautiful today with big, solid chop that reminds me Rickets Point. I tried to few times, but once I couldn't pass full speed on my well overpowerd 6.2 m2 and 35knots wind at gusts.
Anyone have a good advice how to get through chop safely ( I mean 1m or above)?

shearwater gusts would have been more around 25 knots today. the seaway wind meter max gust was 32 knots and it's on the ocean side and 3m above sea level. it is never as strong as what the meters read.

probably just need a smaller sail due to the chop or a smaller board.

You are right, it was 25 knots. Most of the time and that the reason I was on 6.2m2.,
and others windsurfers happy on 5.0 -5.7 , kites on 7m2
So when 35 comes for a while you just have to deal with it, without breaking anything if possible.
