I've noticed Willy Weather for Wello doesn't correspond to the wind condition on the water. It might have something to do with the position of the station if there is one.
I'm wondering about the Willy Weather stations for the other near Bris spots. Are they at all reliable?
Gold Coast ? Viccy Point ? Wello X Wynnum ? Redcliffe ? Bribie ? Caloundra ?
The Caloundra one for Golden Beach gives the current wind speed for a station in the Beerburum forest. It is well inland and does not reflect local conditions at GB. The station for Boreen Point is at Noosa/Tewantin.
Coastalwatch / Surfstich have a station on top of buildings near Happy Valley Caloundra. Reasonably accurate. Subtract 5kt or so for the passage. Ive always thought Willy to be a bit wonky.
Willy uses Redland (Alexandra Hills) for Wello which is useless. It use to be Peel Island (banana bank) which use to read more but at lest is was more reliable.

Found this site today. If you put the pointer on the arrow it brings up the current reading for that position. Not sure how accurate it is, I think it may be linked to the Bom observation readings.
