Thanks everyone who has committed to the course. A bit of background to how this came about. A small group of parents who's kids race at RQ are in the process of formalising a class association for the Bic Techno's, whilst waiting for all the kite protests to be dealt with before the presentation at the end of Sail Brisbane we were discussing the future plans of the class and questioning how can we bring new blood into the sport.

The idea is to start a program next season where kids can learn to windsurf and keep coming back, basically provide an entry point for kids into the sport. The inspiration behind this is the Team15 program in the UK. Google Team15 it will blow you away how successful that program is. Anyway we figured we needed to be qualified in order to coach kids so we approached YQ who are very keen to assist and we approached WQ to help us get the numbers needed to get the course off the ground. Big thanks to Scott for assisting we have 12 at this point.

I will send a pm to everyone who has committed to get your details and pass them onto YQ and further information will come out in due course. Again thanks everyone for making this possible.

If it is anything like the course I did in the mid 1990s, you don't need much experience or sailing skill to complete it, and it will give you a much better grounding for teaching your mates.

I did one back then, when I was on a longboard and couldn't even gybe myself.

Dylan.

Great work Cammd and the others involved. Always happy to help promote a great cause like this one which helps the sport, especially if it get the youngsters involved.
