Does anyone on here windsurf at the Front Beach at Bowen on a regular basis? (I.e. where the sailing club is. ) Is it officially called the ‘Front Beach’?
Went past there the other day. Looks like a good spot. Just looking for a first hand account of the conditions. Eg. Wind consistency, best wind direction, number of local sailors, rigging area, croc population, etc.

Awesome sailing there in March April May. Used to be a good group of us sailing mostly FSW type boards and 4.5 + sails. If Hamilton Island BOM sites reads over 20 knts then front beach is on. Rig next street west of sailing club, good grass to rig on and better launching than at sailing club where wind swirls a bit.Early morning is the best as wind starts to ease after about 1030/ 1100. One of my favourite locations in Qld.Never seen any crocs there unlike Townsville.
