Had the old Mistral out at lake cootharaba today with a 8.0mtr Gaastra GTX Race. Had a blast broad reaching fully powered up it felt kinda cool having nearly 4.0mtrs of board cranking along kinda like driving a train. It never got unsettled or uncontrollable in fact the opposite felt solid and in the gusts I just sheeted in harder and it kept getting faster. Haven't sailed a long board like that for nearly 20 years. They are still good fun.
