Haven't tried the 07's but there was a huge difference in outhaul tunability between the 05 and 06's.

I was sailing in squally conditions with an 06 5.2m. In the lulls it was just over 15knots and I had a minimal amount of positive outhaul, planing beautifully. When the squalls came through I had 30knot gusts (checked seabreeze later) so I gave it more outhaul on the fly - ~5cm more. It flattened right out and I was amazed. 5.2 would traditionally have been way way too much for me in 30knot gusts but not anymore.

I tried the same approach with my 05 5.0m but it looked stretched and over-outhauled, with diagonal creases etc.

Downhaul tuning seems to be much the same between the 05 and 06 but with the additional range of outhaul on the 06, the wind range is now huge!

I'm guessing with the 07's Ezzy's just tweaked the 06... read a review stating that despite the claims of an overhaul for the 07s, it seemed to be more small adjustments and a change of colours . It also said that the feel didn't seem to have changed much.

My mate's getting the 07s so I'll know before too long.

Rigged the 07 and 06 next to each other on the weekend and the difference is evident. (no wind so didn't get to test)

07's are much the same as the 06's in terms of the amount of play in downhaul and outhaul, ie. there is a huge range. But it's the built-in shape that's really changed. The luff of the sail billows out and there is a large amount of batten tension, making them bow out significantly near the luff - it looks almost like a cambered sail! Even with the maximum downhaul and outhaul the sail is not flat.

It looks like it would give a lot of forward drive and just from filling the sail with a bit of breeze on the land it is evident that back hand pressure is minimal. I think it's gonna be an easy sail.

the luff material in the 07 is very stiff. there is only a little bit of give. i'm not sure if this will soften up after the sail has had some use but it would appear that the sail does not rely on being filled to open up.

this way you can see how full it is as you rig it up and are not going to get a surprise when the gusts hit you out on the water.

Oh, and it does feel different to the 06.

I found the 06 better for the simple reason they had a heap more bottom end power than the 05 also alot more pre shape in the 06. Cant wait to get my 07's!!!

Just wondering with the sails being more powerful does this translate into lesser wind range, I have an 05 5.8 wave se and a 06 5.0 wave se and i find with the 5.8 it has an incredible wind range, it very rarely gets overpowered.

Im looking to get a 7.0 infinity has anyone tried the 07 infinitys?
