Hi, I tried to resurrect the old Lisa Harness line thread but apparently it is too old to do so. So here we go.

I bought a pair of Lisa Harness Lines a couple of months ago, expensive, the finish a bit rough, but they work well at adjusting the length of the lines, very little effort required. One problem is that I use them on a smaller diameter boom in (a 170-220 severne enigma) and they do not stay put but rotate when you take off the boom or store it, so you have to readjust every time ... I'll probably put some tape around the boom to avoid that.

But I am not sure how to fix this another problem. One day, in windy conditions, I jibed tried to hook in but the lines swung away toward the sail. It took me a lot of effort to be able to hook in. Normal lines do not swing away out of reach ... anybody had the same problem? How to fix it? The lines are very light, the plastic tube they come with will probably last a very short time. Change the tube (is it possible?), maybe add a second tube to weight them down?

I'm using mine on a skinny boom and had the same issue, so twisted the black rubber band into a figure of 8 to take up the slack and provide more tension. That seemed to work.

Duzzi. I don't use Lisa lines, but I do Patrik lines (which I think are very good). I have the same issue with lines pushing away. The cause is my buoyancy vest pushing on the line adjuster (which sticks out). This only happens with one tack. I could remove my bouy vest, but I would rather not, as it's good impact protection. So, I ended up modifying the adjuster to stop it doing that. So, not sure if your issue is the same ??. Fixed lines won't do this. It's very fatiguing when this happens, and this kills my alpha. But, for freeride and speed/slalom rigs, these adjustable lines are king IMO. I might try the Lisa's one day.

The lines themself are very light, the rope is dynema 3.8 mm, and the plastic tubing thinner than what is standard. And the lines are designed to swing away when released "to get out of your way when jibing". The problem is that at the end of the jibe, in that occasion, the line kept far way, unreachable unless I depowered and basically stop to try to hook in ... maybe it was the loose attachment to the boom that amplified the problem, who knows where it was rotated to, but it was no fun!

I'll try that, thank you. I wonder how long that thin black rubber band is going to last ...
