Almost every sporting product I have purchased in my life has been more than manufacturer spec weight, they lie they lie they lie
High end push bike components comes to mine as a repeat offender
I purchased a couple of new production slalom boards this year both over the weight that was specified on website
The only time you get less than the specified weight is in the supermarket in packaged foods......
So don't be too disappointed that issue is a given

Yes I agree, its a poor situation in general.
However, as mentioned before, all Severne Sails and also masts and boom I bought were in line with the specifications (max. + 80 Gr more weight) up to now, except for the last two TurboGT 8.1.
So TurboGT 8.1 sailors, please give a feedback regarding the weight of your sail. This could help to find out if the sails are in line with the specifications (4.8 kg).

Severne has just adapted the specifications.
The TurboGT 8.1 is now given as 5.13 kg.
