Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has sailed off grange or henley beach? Are they choppier than say seacliff or kingston park or any other beach along the coastline?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Carl,

I started out as one of the Henley crew back in the days when Dave Marsh had his shop there. Now I sail Seacliff. I think the whole metro coast has about the same size of chop on a given seabreeze day, but north of Glenelg it seems to be a bit closer together so that it's more like mogul skiing than down south. And the seabreeze lasts longer and is a bit stronger the further north you go - might be important for an after work session.

Other people might have different observations.

WHoa ... Dave Marsh's shop ... now that's a trip back down memory lane.

I used to sail there ... recollection was that Henley often had a vicious shore dump, more so than the others, that could be even the difference between getting out for a sail and spending time getting pummeled.

Wonder what Dave Marsh is up to now? Anyway, I agree that the shorebreak at Henley in a big blow was/is a mast-breaker. Thought that was normal until I moved down to Seacliff
