hey guys,

Me and my Dad are thinking about spending the weekend at Milang and windsurf.
We read the weather report for the weekend and it says it will be 30 km/h winds on saturday and 26km/h winds on sunday.

will this wind be able to plane a JP Funster 180L board with a 4.2 or 5m sail?

Please Help!!!

Thanks.

I plan (pending last minute weather report) on going to Milang on Saturday, so I might see you there.

No clue about wind. I am going to pack all three boards, 4 sails and hope for the best.

i'd expect the weekend afternoons down Alexandrina to be approaching 20knots - Boggy's likely to be popular this weekend.

depending on your weight, i'd say you should be able to get planing in those conditions on your kit. have a good one.

Conditions look pretty good for the weekend, 20+ both days.
You will get planing easy I would say. However a 180 litre board is a big board in these higher winds, it will be very hard to control. If you have something smaller I would use that instead. I dont know where youre skill level is at though?

Go the 4.2 option Tim, if its 20+ knots the 5.0 might be a bit hard to handle,

Good luck!

When you are first starting out with limited equipment, it's a waiting game. Just wait for the right wind, and then go out.

just got back from boggy - tomorrow's forecast looks identical to today (and the next few days for that matter). Boggy is just around the corner from Milang and if the BOM have it right, you'll have no trouble planning, especially towards evening as it picks up.
