Snapper point with 1.8m tide and westerley is flattish dependant on the swell. Insides can be super smooth between waves. you end up having to cross a few waves - if you stay 2/3rds of the way to the outside reef its usually smallish. When dead west the runs can be pretty long - just jibe as the swells wrap around the nrthern end.

It can be hard on fins and feet particularly below 1.6m and on the very inside near the beach.

Tides over about 2.2m get a bit lumpy inside the reef.

Personal opinion - best on a 2.1ish tide going out - lessens the nthly current.

If the wind is >25knts you can add about 1/2 meter to the tide level. we usually hit it 2 hours either side of a 2.0m tide.

P.s its always 10knts stronger at the top of the hill!!

By the sounds of it is very tidal and looking at it you may need a torch to ride tomorrow with high tide at 05.00 and 17.00 - approx 2.1m. We would like to sail it at low tide for speed but i gather from what you are saying it is dangerous for fin and feet damage from reef?

There is actually no water from about 1m tide and lower you can walk a few hundred metres out on the reef on a 0.3

You will have trouble at the North end and south point has a rock shelf at 1.6 - shin deep.

Bottle shop 1k south is good at low tide but not as smooth. You can sail from there out the back of snapper - but waves are usually bigger wiast to overhead dependant on the swell (out the back of snapper) but great fun
