I was wanting to find out how much interest there was to having a slalom or GPS speed event down at Boggy this summer?

Windsurfing SA is interested in having some races run if not for the windsurfing I can be an excuse to have a sausage sizzle

You will get the common responses form us sea faring mob, 'as long as there are no waves'
I would like to run a few figure 8's :)

It appears to run an event there needs to be:

min 1 boat, with licensed operator
first aid officer
volunteers to assist

I think to get this together we will need a few people who have these requirements who are willing to stick there hands up.

Also all entrants insured and current financial members of Windsurfing SA (or interstate equivalent)

The other option is the very casual race format where it evolves on the day – someone sets a course with a longboard.

I'm in.

Enjoyed the racing back in the day. A couple of bouys and casual figure 8 or course racing is just as much fun as organised events without all the fuss.. Gps speed days would also be fun. The other benefit of casual days is you can't always rely on the weather and sometimes you can't make it for organised events.

Sounds like fun. Definately put a few gybe markers out to give the guys riding wave and freeride gear a chance.

Having a beach start and finish would also make it easier to organize.

nene was like a lake on saturday TAA but was excellent dog walking weather or fishing if i had forseen the waveless coastline and had packed a rod, it was 20k northerly but i wasnt as keen as you city crew on the mid. btw my freestyle bag of tricks is empty.
browns yesterday was west 20k+ and mast high sets no bs.
the only downer was two 35k hailing squalls half golf balls at that
