Hi all,
My girlfriend and I will be driving the coast of SA in early November. I just wondering what windsurfing conditions I'm likely to score and where best to score them?? I'm mostly into waves or bump n jump etc. We're thinking of doing the beach drive from Beachport to Robe, surely there're spots all along this route? Any ideas or advice would great!
Cheers
Theres good sailing at both beachport (nw/w) main beach 1 km before town and robe Long beach Third ramp (s/se & n/ne). Haven't sailed any spots on the 4wd tracks between Beachport to robe but be prepared as there is some tough little beaches and sandhill sections to navigate along the way.
There are also some great spots just over the SA border before Beachport - HAAK or Pilchard (seabreezers) may be worth PM to find out some more and Jimbob is around the Beachport area.
If you come through Adelaide theres a variety dependant on wind and swell - northern beaches may be firing some good seabreezes by then (B&J) and mid coast with some lighter sse waves.
If your going West Coast -a bit lonely on your own - I think they call it Blowvember - they do a bit of sailing around Elliston / Walkers Rocks - awesome spot but spooky as hell in the black water off the bombie - if theres good swell and SSE seabreezes you'll find a few crew turning up in the arvo
Enjoy the drive there's some great coastline and good sailing on the right conditions
PM me when your near Mt Gambier and I'll be keen to show you or at least direct you to the better options for the prevailing conditions.
November can be great for swell and a seabreeze on our reef and point breaks.
A good cruise along the coast through canunda might be up you 4x4 alley.
Thanks for all the info fellas, very helpful! I'll be in touch in November, I've just got to get through a month of windsurfing in Tassie first, tough life I know!
Cheers
