Would love to but couldn't get leave around then. Got to experience spot x last week fully powered on a 4.7, overpowered out the back. Was great fun to sail. Big crowd too with only me and Marty there. Beautiful spot out there. Got a few light wind peelers there the next day too.

I hope you score a session there Russ, or get the Bombie on. Three trips there now and still haven't scored the bombie going off.

I'm back living on EP after a couple of years working in the desert and keen to head across to Elliston if the forecast looks good! If the seabreeze is pumping I can usually be found blasting around Tumby.

It will be all time guys, I'm going to be over the EP on a purely surf mission doing the Elliston - Sharinga region.
Wont have sailing gear so it will be 25k Seabreezers.
Good thing a few spots will fire in the AM and with a sou'easter.
Might even see you crew for a post sesh froffy.

Will head down for day trips to Elliston depending on forecast. Had some good sails here lately. Hopefully get some good conditions this year.

I'll be kicking around Russ. Pretty low key this year which might mean good conditions. Sheringa is high on list

A few shots from early on Australia day with a fun float and ride that kicked to around 25+ knts with some fun waves on the beachy & bombie.

Marti had a nice close encounter with a very friendly pod of dolphins - one tried its best to jump as high as his mast as he was sailing out.

Fun day of sailing with Stan, Danny, Maxa, Marti, Al, PK

Thanks to Peter Ross from OES for sending down some demo boards with PK - 132l hot rod and 112 - wind was a bit solid to try them out for me

That was a good days sailing. Plenty of wind without all of the usual sand blowing around, nice size and shaped waves on the beach, plenty of crew around and cold beers after.

The 132 Hotrod went well on the waves even for an unskilled wave sailor like myself. And when the wind picked up my OES Outlaw was good value.

A shame about the wind for the following couple of days but that has been our summer so far.

Another great Australia Day in Elliston sailing and socialising.

I convinced my surf mates to check out walkers rocks on the way up to streaky. Where do you sail? Blacks was double over head on a slight se breeze but the beach just down the ramp at walkers was flat with a 1 foot reefy. Is the sailing spot further down?

Yeah normally sail from about 1 km down the beach - depending on swell direction as too how much gets in. East island blocks a fair bit.

We went south and it was a tad larger but not enough wind - the bomb sets were almost closing out across the back of the bay

I do remember a few years back now a Dave Lane vid and there was quite a large hill/dune you must drive down to the spot making me think we weren't on it.
Is it a tyres down smash it through track or easy going mission?
On another matter how big a cahunas do you need to surf blacks wow

At Walkers, you just drive along the beach, there is a ramp onto it next to the drop hole toilet.

Just getting down and back up the cliff at Blacks is a mission in itself. Its definitely got a spooky feeling paddling out there. Its an awesome wave though, especially being a goofy foot.

I've only sailed Vivonne bay in a Westerley - was a bit sketchy with a dead seal on the beach and Seal bay just up the road - waves were OK.

Here's a couple more shots of you from Aust Day
