We get pretty reasonable sailing - worst times are april and sometimes around october.

The rest of the year is pretty good.

Semaphore gets great seabreezes during summer and the regular crowd up there are carving it up every arvo that the winds in. we have daylight saving and I regularly sail after work (sellicks usually fills in after 5pm) sunset mid summer is after 830pm

I live south of the city - summer seabreezes a little more fickle down our way but the gully winds at sellicks can be light and fluffy to nuclear - and add some waves and its good winter rocks, nthlies, waves and cold water (12-13 degrees) and some big sw fronts at Seacliff, snapper and northern beaches

as far as windsurfing goes its pretty reasonable

4.2-6.4 100l free wave and smallish wave board will cover 99% of your sailing

There is a pretty active windsurfing community as well and we try and organise a few events throughout the year.

i think you would get more sails here. due to day light savings! definatly need a wetty. winter is awesome but can be a tad chillly! overall good place to be. however no doubt WA kicks out butt!

from semefore prob like 20mins max to city i would think. we all complain about traffic but in reality its soooo much bettter then other states.

Ian, you'll be impressed with our traffic. You'll get used to the cold water. You warm up pretty quickly when you rig up anyway. Just get a suitably rated wet suit for winter. Catch you on the water :)


PS/ Russell. you didn't slag Semaphore. What's going on ?

traffic here is nothing compared to brissy,you would be pleasantly surprised,--
you would travel 25ks in 45mins in any direction peak hour normally,less out of peak hour,we dont have gridlock often,unlike brissybane.
We do however have the worst drivers in the country,most neanderthalls who made it through the ice age(men and women) drive in adelaide
Adelaide has a great climate and is a top spot to live!
