Hello, from Normandy (north-west of France),
I will come next month to Adelaide for 2 weeks (for a business travel) and I will come again in the next months/years.
I will use my free time to visit Adelaide and the surrounding aeras. But, as an addict windsurfer, I cannot resist the call of the wind (even more if the place is sunny and the sea is warm).
I fund an interesting post in this forum about the spots around Adelaide (www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Windsurfing/South-Australia/Windsurfing-Spots-Adelaide?page=1) but no information about gear rental.
Do you know where I can find a windsurfing school/shop/rental service?
Do you a website with some more information: spots, to know who goes where...
I am looking for any kind of conditions (and gear): I usually practise foil, slalom-speed and (occasionally) waves.
In any case, I am really impatient to discover this place more than 16.400km distant from my home spot (www.normandie-windsurf.fr/spots/nord-cotentin/collignon/)
Thanks.

thanks for your proposition and the friendly welcome.
I will be in Adelaide from the 3rd to the 15th of February and very excited to meet windsurfers from the "other side of the earth" ;-)

I am now back in France after a 2 weeks in Adelaide. It was a great stay and even if I was there to work, I found free time to discover a part of the region.
I had also the opportunity to windsurf twice in North Haven. Many thanks to gmitton who lend me some gear. I discovered a spot where I would like to windsurf more often: hot water, great wind, sun, good waves. I would like to windsurf here every day.
But the reality is different and I will go back to my home spot in the next days. It is a good one but colder (less than 10? for air and water), without sun.
It was a pleasure to meet some of you and for sure, I will be back in Adelaide in the next months to return in the water and discover some other places around the city.

It was nice to meet you and have a good sail at North Haven with an unusually warm seabreeze ... but you will definitely need the wetsuit on your next trip :)

Hi All,

My boyfriend and I will be visiting Adelaide from the end of august till the end of december this year. I will be working at the university, my boyfriend is looking to do some temporary work and sailing courses. We are both windsurfers and we would like to get on the water as often as possible in our free time. Can anyone help us finding some gear? Is rental an option? I've read something on this forum about buying gear and then selling it when we leave?

(we are looking for some wave/freeride gear, not too big) :)

Flying our gear with us is way too expensive :(

Thanks!

Plenty of crew with some sails n boards sitting unused in their sheds - best suss out things when u get here - I know I've got a 5.0 blade 4.2 manic and 5.7 S1 - 2 enigma booms and a 400 carbon mast gathering dust - in my shed - shouldn't b too hard to come up with something

cheers Russh

Hey Soto. Be in touch when you are back, although we are moving more into pure wave sailing and further away from the local beaches now...

Hi all,
I am back! I will be in Australia between the 25th of june and the 12th of July. As I will have to travel in many places in Australia, I will be in Adelaide the last week of my trip.
As the days are shorter at the moment, I will only be available to windsurf during the first week-end of July. For this reason, I am not sure to get my wetsuit with me. It will be easier to put more gifts for my kids in my suitcase.
But I will be happy to share a beer with you.

Hi Soto. I have a JP 85L FSW board and some masts you can borrow. Regarding wettie: You could be a man sailor and sail in your jocks like Hayden and Bondy ? . Mob: 0466 104586. Good luck nailing the good winds.

Hello to all the friendly locals in Adelide! I'll be visiting that part of the world from 1st Mar fro 2 weeks and was hoping to get some time on the water but a web search for windsurfing rentals in Adelide brought me here.. Would any locals be kind enough to share their gear with a visitor from Ireland? I'll be staying in Glenelg but will have a car and I'm happy to travel. I'm up for anything - flat water blasting or trying local wave spots! Greetings from freeeeezing Dublin!

Freerace and wave boards you can use.
Its not brand new. But its not too old (2014/15) gear.
Happy to lend it out.

Thank you, @Stuthepirate - that's really kind! I'll get in touch closer to arrival when I have a better idea of what days I can make it. What spots are nearby you that you can recommend? Want to keep an eye on wind forecasts

Hi Oliver. I've sold/given away most of my loan equipment now. But have some bits and pieces you could borrow/have (extension, bases, fins etc). Let me know if that helps.

Hi Oliver,
Come down to Seacliff on Tuesday the 18th. The forecast looks fantastic, and there will be plenty of crew to meet.
