Is anyone planning to have a morning sail tomorrow (northern beaches) ?. I'm packing the car, heading to work tomorrow at usual. If the flags are flying, I'll drive past work and head to the beach. Anyone else with the same idea ?

Was nice in bed listening to the morning news and having a warm cup of coffee.

Maybe a sneaky one sometime Sunday at the mid with a nice little swell

Stood up like a date . Fast moving clouds at home, but sunny day at Sem's . There was wind out there, just not where I wanted it.

I notice that unpredictable systems like this mornings are very small in area, where as the large systems (we get at the start of winter) are much more predictable.

Just wait for it to warm up a little and we will get some good seabreeze's on the back of these small fronts we are getting.

Bring on Blovember. Patience J, the wind will come.

seems like that it is better to go kayaking in the early morning than windsurfing! :-D

yes, I'm back in ADL but only for a very short visit... will leave next Mon again and have no windsurfing gear with me... so no way to go windsurfing here. :-(

but Canberra is not that bad for windsurfing actually and went there a couple of times last end-summer and autumn and am now looking forward to the new season. :-)
also nice for (flatwater)sailing near ACT is Sanctuary Point... if you guys ever make it in this direction and there is wind. ;-)

wish you guys a nice windsurfing season!

cheers,
Luise - the Austrian

Hi Luise

How is your job going ?. Sounds like you are having fun over there

Here, it's been pretty frustrating for me least. August and September: Front comes in. Go to the beach, rigg up, get everything dirty and wet. Wind either dies or blows insane (either way it's unsailable). Pack up, drive home in a traffic jam . A ouijaboard would make more sense than BOM.

...oh, that sounds bad.

I had three sails in the winter time in ACT because when I leave work it's too dark already and also hardly wind. wind is mostly around lunch time until in the early arvo.
But there would have been more windsurfing days in NSW on salt lakes next to the sea, but it's a bit far for one single day, also my car was bit a worry and I am busy with working too.

But now I am looking fwd to the wind/surfing season! One week and then daylightsaving time ends! :-)

My work goes well.. just survived our annual Congress @ Adelaide Hilton :-) and in total I learned a lot and I love to live in Canberra! You have the feeling that you are living in the country and I am also living 7 min. by car to Lake Burley Griffin's best windsurfing spot where in the summer time I was quite often windsurfing - short runs and sometimes disgusting wind conditions but I don't know another city where you can go for a sail in the mith of the city except cities located next to the sea like Adelaide.

And I recently bought a kayak for the days without any wind ;-)

In total I am enjoying it to live in the nation's heart. :-)

You should buy a kayak and go for a paddle if the wind dies or is in total unsailable!

Cheers,
Luise

Luise,
You should try stand up paddle boarding. Like kyak and surfing combined.

I would like to try that to. Heaps of guys at work are into it... but too many interests, not enough coin. Sounds like you have settled in at Canberra. That's good to hear
