We're in for more wind in the south Thurs, with some luck we'll get some swell this time.

SOUTHEAST COAST, Tasman Is to South East Cape:
Thursday: Northwest winds 20 to 30 knots tending westerly during the morning at
30 to 40 knots, then southwesterly in the afternoon at similar speeds, possibly
reaching 45 knots offshore. Southwest winds easing to 25 to 35 knots in the
evening. Seas 2 to 3 metres rising to 3 to 5 metres. West to southwest swell
around 3 metres rising to 4 later.

Izaak, you've got it in the north wed and thurs

CENTRAL NORTH COAST, Stanley to the Northern Tip of Flinders Is:
Wednesday: Westerly winds 15 to 25 knots freshening to 20 to 30 knots during the
afternoon, tending northwesterly in the evening at similar speeds. Seas rising
to 2 to 3 metres. Westerly swell to 1.5 metres.
Thursday: West to southwesterly winds 25 to 35 knots, reaching 40 knots offshore
at times, easing to 20 to 30 knots in the evening. Seas 3 to 5 metres abating
slightly in the evening. Westerly swell 1.5 to 2 metres.

aaaaarrrgggghhhhh dam it, its going to be a perfect direction but low tides at twelve,so wont be able to make it. but it might role into Saturday yet.why does school have to have student free days on Mondays you should be able to choose four days off school a year instead of them picking it for you.

well it was weird forecast for Saturday was 18-22 knots lucky to be 16 and very gusty, Sunday 20-25 forecast Devonport air port was saying 27 knots so rigged up got on the water lucky to be 20 and very gusty.still waiting to get a nice breeze.what made it weird over the weekend was that cape grim had 27 all week end and low head up to 26 and port sorell in the middle with only around 15.

Yeah it was very weird here to, get out and spend 15 minutes to get one planing run, then wait another 15 minutes and it'll be glassy, then 20 knots for about 15 seconds.

It's all over the place.

Izaak, you had a better run than we did down here. went to Carlton saturday, beautiful waves about shoulder high and no wind, went back to Dorans where it wasn't much better. only good part was about 15 guys turned up to watch the no wind so we had a couple of tinnies instead. Sunday was worse

Well that must be a first. I had reasonable conditions here on Sunday. Gusty but it usually is and ranging from 15 to 25 knots. Went out for 2 hours with the 6m sail and had a great time.
Any ideas on when the speed day is going to be? I feel like a trip down south is coming on.

Low Head was pretty good all weekend, better on Sunday than Saturday though. It has to be the most consistent Autumn weather that I can remember (not saying much, even last week seems a bit hazy). It seems like we need some sort of keel boat event (thanks J Watson) to make the westerlies really kick in.

only if it was day light it is blowing 33 knots northerly with a dead flat nautical mile run would of been on if it came in earlier.
