I arrived a bit late at Bell Buoy today but scored some fun conditions.

Big thanks to Geoff for doing Cameraman duties, this is why there are no photos of his super awesome backloops.

Conditions were truly UGLY for the first few hours.

Wind up and down and swinging everywhere.
Waves from left and right.
Disorganised chop on top of all that.

Cookie brought the better wind and waves, and really got the best hour or so on the water as the ramps smoothed off on the low tide.

I spent enough time in the water for my head to still be draining out my nose (one of those days).
Greenie did the one thing that you NEVER, EVER do, and we all know what that is.................. (never let go)- hysterical to watch, but apparently a little painful. Oh, harden up! (Laset photo - I don't want to know!)
Greenie and I agreed that Rafa's sailing is getting better each time, but Rafa thinks he runs out of puff too fast and is looking for training tips. - just keep hanging on I guess...

Even in REALLY BAD CONDITIONS it is still the best sport ever.

Cool photo's...not sure what greenie was doing ..new signature move maybe. Ben, Rod and myself had a sail at Greens in quite gusty conditions which was a lot of fun.

We realised halfway through the day that Bellbuoy was a mistake. The forecast was for W, but it blew WNW and NW all day, and a dropping tide at Greens Beach makes for some seriously cool conditions.

If we could spread the coming 4 days of wind across about 2 weeks we might have some good sailing to come too.

I thought 'the move' was called the Jackie Chan, but I could not work out its purpose. Then I realised that it is in fact a nautical Haka, is called the Bro', and is supposed to protect you from doing really dumb things, like letting go. Apparently it is referred to as the "Don't let go, Bro" - it didn't work.
