I've had a couple of people ask me recently whether or not I've tried Dianas Basin which is near St Helens. I hadn't, but yesterday it was blowing a southerly and I decided to try it.
Looked good with chop on the water and a real smooth ride, and it was, for about 50 yards. After that, every time I tried it, the wind just disappeared. Looks like the trees around there really kill the wind. If it was in exactly the right direction, probably an ESE, you may be lucky but I certainly wouldn't recommend driving any distance to find out.

Hey Iceman, I think I was behind you on the highway last Sunday arvo - you (?) turned off at Conara to head to the East Coast.

Yeah Easty I'd reckon you'd be right. I was heading back from the learn to sail day at Low Head. You should of been there. Great day.
