After reviewing the forecast we've moved the Learner/fun day from Saturday to SUNDAY 22rd. the wind looks like being a light westerly warm and sunny which will be..........hopefully.............. great fun day for learners.

It'll be held at Dorans Road Lauderdale from 12noon to around 4pm.

For those that don't know where Dorans is drive through Lauderdale for about 2 k's, take the 1st turn on the right onto Doran's Rd then a couple of k's after that you'll find us.

Remember to bring a wetsuit and booties, don't forget the booties as there's a few oysters around.

Click on the link below for more details but remember the day is now Sunday

Hi, I am wondering if there is an age that you have to be to participate in the learner day on Sunday at Dorans Rd Lauderdale? Both my husband and I and kids are keen. My kids are 10, 14 and 17. Cheers Ang

I am in no place to answer this question, but in the past children have been welcomed! i would expect a positive answer, although houston is getting pretty old, so the grumpy may come out any day now...

Ang we welcome all ages though anyone under I'm guessing about 8 yrs may find it hard. Come early as it looks like the wind is picking up as the day goes on so early will be better. Don't forget to bring wetsuit and booties

We're bringing the time forward to 11am as the wind looks like it could be a bit strong later in the day.
The conditions may not be ideal as it'll be dead low tide with possibly fresh to strong winds but if you're keen come on down anyway. One thing we windsurfers learn pretty quickly is the weather is never perfect but then it's the changing conditions that make it such a great sport.

Even if it's unsailable for learners we'll still have the barbie going, we can show you the gear, teach you how to rig a sail, Paul will have his home made simulator so you'll get a lesson on dry land and if it's windy you'll get to watch a few pro's in action.

Either way it should be a fun day
