The traditional long weekend event at Stanley is planned for the 6-7th March, with a Freerace planned for the Cape Country Classic. Racing could be on Saturday or Sunday depending on forecast. Prerace meeting at Midday Saturday and/or Sunday morning at the caravan park.

Planning is usually around a social event at the Stanley pub on Saturday night and hopefully Cookie can sweet talk the pub into making a later/larger booking once the 6pm punters have finished meals (tbc).

Note: The AGM will not be held at Stanley this year

Unfortunately, the Saturday forecast looks pretty bleak and the Sunday forecast has been significantly downgraded.
I am inclined to cancel the proposed freerace on Saturday and keep fingers crossed for the event to be held on Sunday, weather permitting (to be confirmed here).
Also noting that there have been no responses regarding Saturday night, so bookings will be left to individuals to organise.

I'll be there and keen for a foil if not enough wind for the Freerace. Not looking too bad though, so hopefully we'll get the 1hr in!!

I'd always thought about taking the foil in East inlet, so took the opportunity today on quite a low low tide (0.5m).
Had to keep the track fairly tight to stay in enough depth, but was a good exercise in controlling foil flying height .
Will try again sometime with a bit more water. Mort

Pity their wasn't enough wind for the Freerace, but looks like you got a nice foiling session in. Must have been pretty nice and flat in there behind the sandbar!
