Stanley looks like a moderate easterly tomorrow, but low tide later in the day. Are there any other easterly sailing options other than the eastern inlet channels later in the arvo? I'm thinking of heading down and staying the night if possible.

First channel would be sailable in the early afternoon around half tide. Only good for about an hour before it gets too shallow.
Port Latta would be worth a look for wavesailing. Peggs Beach could be fun on freestyle-wave gear.

Thanks Baz. I'm at Peggs. it looks ok with a few small waves and a steady easterly cross shore.

Two sailed from next to Stanley caravan park in arvo. 4.5 mostly with some 5.2. Tricky off shallows due to Nut wind shadow but breeze very solid once in deep water. Substantial "chop" off the entrance to the inlet (3/4 mast or more & moving fairly quickly & good at nailing you). Same easterly pattern of +25kts willy weather at this stage for Wednesday arvo and plan to rig same place around noon. Tide dropping so a decent walk home at the end of arvo. Recommended for freestyle wave funtime.

Youse were spotted by the speed sailors in the channel around low tide (where I was hanging around on the flat stuff). Plenty of shore break out there on the ocean side by the looks of it. I don't know whether Peggs is sailed much, but there are a few surprisingly sized waves formed over the reef off shore as the tide dropped. I managed to get right in front of an "oh s#@t" wave and survived, followed by an "oh f#$k" wave which carried me atop my sail back into the deeper water. .... hence the "rest" in the flat water. I'll try camping there when it's a less populated with XMas campers.
