The forecast is looking good for the first WT wave sailing event this Saturday. At the moment there's a solid westerly forecast increasing through the afternoon. If conditions are good this will be the WT wave sailing state titles with $250 of prize money to share between the competitors.
Start time will be 12 midday.
To compete you will need at least the $35 WT membership.
There will be heats rather than an expression session format.

I'm out of action with a wrist full of metal and 5 broken ribs. Remember that windsurfing can be a dangerous sport! But falling onto dirt and rocks will break you quicker!! Have fun everyone

Bell Buoy produced some good conditions for the contest on Saturday. With a gusty 28 to 35 knot westerly and a mid sized swell there were opportunities for both jumping and riding but it was probably more of a wave riding day. There was at least one point when conditions went ballistic and it gusted over 50 knots scattering gear around and forcing everyone of the water.
The highlight for me was seeing all the youth division deal with the conditions. James, Lachy and Sanden all sailed well. In all there were six on the water which given the short notice was ok, both Paul and Luka got some nice waves in the variable conditions.





Lachy (at 14) showing a level of athleticism that most of us only vaguely remember. Lachy, James and Sanden followed up their sailing with a 1.5 hour surf!
