Saturday was a write off 5 - 8 kts.
Sunday a few of us gathered at the Angling club all hopeful the forecast would come through 20kts SW. Around 1 pm some silly person(ejmack) decided he was bored so his rigged his gear, putting the rest of us to shame thus forcing us to do the same. Once ejmack rigged he said well are we really going to do this as I told him the temperature was only 10c and the wind was lucky to be 12 kts. Kato arrived and told us we where all mad bustards and set up his gear as well. With KAto there we had no choice but to go out.
The wind gusted from 8 - 20 kts. Kato managed a cool 28 kts on his GPS. (show off). Rain squalls hit, wind did not let off and Croweman - cut a dashing figure modelling his new winter wettie and ejmack looked great cutting through the squalls. Me - I was sporting my new look con%$#^dom - Billabong wetsuit hood attached to a rash vest. Very warm. Recommend it to anyone considering a hood. Mind you will not win any fashion statements.

Further to the above we had a couple of well wishers come by and check things out and promptly disappear. Bloody fair weather sailors We know who you are and we know where you live

As crappy as the conditions were it was good to get out, and catch up.

The new con%$#^dom looked great mate! Makes you look even more like a tasty morsel (for a shark), or the Gimp!

What happened with the 8.5m sail? Was it too big in the gusts? Looked like you were crusing along nicely on it but then you changed down.

I think that the new hood may have been responsible for sending that group of small children running back to the caravan park after they'd come to play in the sand...but at least you were warm!

Good to catch up and looking forward to the inaugral clinic.

Ejmack - the 8.5 was too hard to hold when it gusted. Going from 12 to 20 kts is no fun with that much sail up plus I realised after I had come in to change down that I had the harness lines too far forward causing me to crab across the water and point up wind too much. Was not enjoying myself so I thought better control was the order of the day.
Croweman - It did not help my self esteem with you pointing and laughing at me when I was wearing the hood. DArth Vader in the helmet( Kato). Uncle Bob in his floppy hat(ejmack), the Policeman out of The Village People(Croweman)and Cond#@^om Man (Old Salty) what a sight on the water. No Wonder everyone was running away!

Yeah, I may have to upgrade to the Village People look soon I think. Few close calls with the mast to date.

Salty - Yeah, know what you mean about misjudging the gusts. I had too large a fin in to start with and I was out of control when on the plane. Changed down to the 35cm and no problems.

With all these unhinged loonies on the loose, sounds like I should have been filming at the weekend?

Tassie was cold and almost windless, but I did find a few awesome spots which are worthy of an adventure when the weather gets a bit warmer. Anyone interested??

I think wearing the hood that day was a practice for when it gets really cold like today and he wanted the see if we could still sail fast while laughing . Who knows,he might even start wearing boardies while sailing

Have Drift is that bait you are laying out there?
Of course we are interested if there is windsurfing in it. Tell us more.

And Kato what's this that we still have 3 more months of freezing our pixies before the water gets warmer. I think I will be going for the heated boardies soon.

Salty - I think you've been on the rum as you've obviously got your gay icons mixed up - easily done. Whilst I've got no objections to being compared to a beefed up New York drag queen dressed up as a traffic cop, I suspect that the black dude himself may object to being compared to a pasty coloured streak of warm p#ss like me. I think you actually meant to compare me to the construction worker - please see his domed helmet....not a comment to be repeated within earshot of George Michael obviously.

Hey Croweman - you got me on that one. My memories of the Village people have alluded me. I was sure the cop wore a white helmet? I think a cross between the construction worker and the cop would have been a better comparison. Not suggesting that you are gay and that there is anything wrong with that anyway. Says me with my painted nails.

Very good EJ - you're obviously as underemployed as I am...your hat is uncannily accurate - I'm not convinced that this was photoshopped...

Candidates for the missing spots are? C'mon ladies, you know who you are
