Hi all,

Looking at possibly heading to Lake Eppalock next week, currently reading 43% full.

Can't find anything online after 2010, anyone know if the lake will be any good for sailing?

Cheers,
Simon

FYI for anyone interested, I reached out to Bendigo Yacht Club (who race dinghies etc on the lake) and this was their response:

Eppalock has plenty of water for sailing. There are some partially submerged trees (mostly visible and easily avoidable), but no logs or weeds.
Wind tends to be light in the morning, picking up from any direction in the afternoon. It can be flukey in strong winds.

Sailed on Eppalock yesterday, it was pretty good. Access was good from the Public Boat Ramp near the Yacht Club, was able to park right next to the water.

Wind was very gusty, but close to the forecast so can't complain.

Plenty of room on the water.

Biggest down side was no grass for rigging, mostly gravel.

I'm sure I'll be back soon :)

Anyone planning to visit (any regional lake) should check out the Blue-Green Algae warnings here:

I've windsurfed Eppalock at 16%, for foiling ~20% should be ok closer to the spillway - of coarse the wind direction plays a big part, normally SE is the best, anything northerly is fun and gusty.
