Hi
I'm travelling to Melbourne from Sweden early may. I was hoping do do some wavesailing and surfing, but I can't bring my kit and I haven't found any place that rents out windsurfing gear.
Does anyone know a place to rent wavesailing kit?

Just found the answer to why I haven't found any place that rents kit further down in this forum "renting Wave stuff in ViC". It's a pity that a world famous windsurfing area doesn't have a place to rent kit.
If anyone has any suggestions how to get some wavesailing done between may 8-14:th without bringing kit it would be much appreciated.

Vesselan, The Zu in St Kilda have gear hire on their website: www.thezu.com.au. May is not a great time for wind though, think about surfing instead.

If only someone had some wave gear that they no longer used. Such a shame that wave boards get snapped up as soon as you go to sell them...

And that there's no convenient single location to bring buyers and sellers together...
Oh well, we can dream.

Vesslan.... just out of interest, what would be a reasonable price for a 90 litre board, 5.5m, 4.7m, carbon mast and carbon boom plus extension... for a week?

Thanks for the replys. Looks like I'll go for surfing instead.
ginger pom: I don't have a good answer for what is a reasonable rate. I find that usually the rates are quite steep, but then you pay for having a wide range of kit to chose from right at the beach, and insurance if you break it. Which for some reason tends to happen more often whenever you are not using your own stuff...

If any of you guys are going out wave sailing between ~ may 8-14 and have an extra kit with you that you are willing to rent out it would be a lot more interesting than renting for a whole week, as that would mean having to rent a station-wagon as well. For me it would also have the added benefit of getting local advice on where and when to sail. Still not sure what a reasonable rate is. Maybe AUD 50-100 for a few hours up to a full day depending on the kit? I'm open for suggestions.
I'm a lightweight at 65 kg, meaning I'm often on a 74l board and 4.2m sail when others use a 85l board and 4.7m sail

Hey Vesslan,
just letting you know that I'd be happy to rent you my own personal kit.
I'm 67 kgs, have a Starboard Kode 74 and North Ice sails in 4.7m and 4.2m.
Contact me at RPS The Board Store either via a PM or call on 9525-6475.
Give me 2 days notice though if it's going to be windy.
I can hook you up with a rental surfboard as well if required.
Cheers
