Sunday's southerly semed uncharacteristically warm. I can't remember sailing in a southerly 25kts+ with the air temp in the mid to high 20's. This time of year for that strength they normally seem to be cold fronts pushing through after a high, and I tend to need a bit more rubber (well, neoprene) on. I kinda like warm water and strong warm wind from S or SW.
Can any resident meteorologist types (AW?) explain the phenomenon? Is it my failing memory or was the weather pattern unusually warm from the south?

Easy.. It's been very warm in Tas. 'Hot' Southerly is bound to happen.
